We were treated to the scandalous gossip of the day, how an eighteen inch waist was achieved (not to be tried at home!) and the language of fans, from the viewpoint of own costumed Ladies Maid who remained delightfully in character. Most recently, we were delighted to welcome our members and two new visitors to our monthly meeting when Jo Gilby’s wonderful talk about “The Life of a Ladies’ Maid” took us back to the very early Edwardian era and had us all fascinated and amused.

Our ladies have enjoyed a busy few weeks of events and activities, the highlight being our much anticipated Afternoon Tea Cruise on the River Trent when twenty members set sail in the beautiful summer sunshine.Īn interesting commentary from the captain, good company and the usual debate about whether the jam or cream is spread first on the scones made for a very enjoyable afternoon. Whilst we empathise that the package did not meet with your expectations, we look forward to welcoming you aboard in the near future in order to prove to you that complaints about our products are the exception rather than the norm. Our September meeting started with a minutes silence being observed as a mark of thanks and respect for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a WI member for over 70 years and the ultimate inspiring woman.Ī tribute from East Leake WI has been entered in the National WI book of condolence and members were encouraged to contribute individually if they wish. Any concerns regarding your meal would have been gladly dealt with by our crew should it have been brought to their attention.

Our staff are renowned for being friendly and polite, offering a service which is both attentive and courteous. the captain will prioritise the safety of the passengers and crew which may result in either a non-sail or a reduced cruising time. Our £10.75 2 hour Winter Warmer cruise special aboard the fully heated Nottingham Princess includes a traditional roast dinner of hand carved beef or chicken breast, three seasonal vegetables, roasted and new potatoes, yorkshire pudding and rich gravy, followed by hot apple pie and custard with a cup of tea of coffee.Ī risk assessment is conducted by the captain prior to every departure and if the conditions beyond the control of Princess River Cruises render it unsafe to sail i.e.

My self and a friend went to complain to the owner in the office at the side of the river the rude, arrogant, con artist owner told us point blank we would not be getting a refund because we ate the food!! So basically what they did is they knew full well they wouldn't be sailing today but they decided to get everyone on, serve the food and then tell people after they had eaten that they weren't sailing as they knew that if they told people before they wouldn't get on the boat and would all ask for a refund!! To top it off the food was absolutely rubbish too!!! Very Disappointed, Con artist company and terrible customer service!!!!!!!!!

Didn't set off immediately they decided to serve us our food first then immediately after serving food the captain announced the boat would not be taking off due to poor weather conditions. Absolutly terrible company with an extremely rude office manager! went down today with a group of friends having pre booked tickets last week! got down there boarded the boat with the rest of the passengers (it was a full boat).
